Bonjour Stories

First French through stories

Step into the world of French through stories, characters and adventures.

Each week, children discover a new story and use it as a starting point for games, creative projects, role play, movement and conversation. Along the way, they pick up French words and expressions in a fun and meaningful context.

Children meet memorable characters, explore French-speaking cultures and create their own stories, building confidence in simple French and friendships within the group.

The emphasis is on participation, imagination and communication rather than formal language study.

The term ends with a Bonjour Stories Celebration, where children share their favourite stories, projects and creations with family and friends.

No previous French is required, just curiosity and a love of stories.

Who is it for?

Children aged 4–7 who are new to French or just starting. No previous French is needed. These are introductory groups, not literacy classes for children who already speak French.

What happens in a session?

Each session begins with a new story. Children meet its characters, then bring the story to life through games, role play, movement and a small creative project, using new French words and expressions along the way.
